The Hippie Christian Manifesto - Viva la Revolution!

The core of Jesus' teachings are laid out in his Sermon on the Mount, where he teaches us to live in peace and harmony with both our Creator and our fellow human beings.
Jesus calls us to live a revolutionary lifestyle of love where integrity matters and relationships are valued.
Jesus admonishes us as his followers to take action and put his teachings into practice in our daily lives.
Here is the Hippie Christian Manifesto, a condensed version of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. Viva la Revolution!

Viva la Revolution!

Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,

for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,

for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,

for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,

for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

“Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

We are the salt and light of the world.

Therefore, we are to brighten, preserve, and spice up the lives of those around us.

Actions speak louder than words.

Therefore, we are to be people of our word. Let our ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and our ‘No,’ be ‘No.’

Relationships are sacred and binding, and they have a direct effect on our relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Therefore, we are to honor our commitments and strengthen our relationships, knowing that being in right relationship with others is more important than being right.

We are sons and daughters of our Father in Heaven.

Therefore, we are to be loving, forgiving, and generous.

True love is unconditional, not transactional.

Therefore, we are to love even our enemies.

Religious hypocrites have their reward.

Therefore, we are to be humble and not try to prove ourselves superior to others.

Worry is misspent energy because the Father knows the things that we need.

Therefore, we are not to be materialistic, but rather we are to be focused on God’s economy of love and mercy.

We are not perfect and we don’t have all the answers.

Therefore, we do not judge others.

Reciprocity happens.

Therefore, if we want to be treated fairly we first must be fair to others.

Because love fulfills the law it’s not about religion, it’s about relationship.

Therefore, we are to live out a loving relationship with God and with everybody else.

Knowledge necessitates action.

Therefore, we are to be doers of Jesus’ teachings not passive listeners.

Peace, Love and Light!
