David Crosby & Graham Nash At OWS

In a show of support Tuesday, David Crosby and Graham Nash preformed at Occupy Wall Street, encouraging the crowd to "Keep going". Watch this Rolling Stone video with an interview of David and Graham on their way down to OWS.

Here is a two thousand year old warning to the 1% by the Apostle James:
And now, you rich people, listen to me! Weep and wail over the miseries that are coming upon you!

Your riches have rotted away, and your clothes have been eaten by moths. Your gold and silver are covered with rust, and this rust will be a witness against you and will eat up your flesh like fire.

You have piled up riches in these last days.

You have not paid any wages to those who work in your fields. Listen to their complaints! The cries of those who gather in your crops have reached the ears of God, the Lord Almighty.

Your life here on earth has been full of luxury and pleasure. You have made yourselves fat for the day of slaughter.
(James 5:1-5)

May God see to it that justice is done...that we go back to being a nation where we can all earn a fair wage for a fair job done, again!!

Great post, Kevin. Why does the "religious right" focus so much on some scriptures but not others? They totally ignore every bible verse having to do with love of wealth and money (of which there are many) and zero in on certain obscure Old Testament verses that advance political agendas. How clear can the bible BE on the issue of money? How can the talking heads say that OWS is all about being "anti-success" when it is really all about being anti-GREED and the shrinking of the middle class?

I agree, coloradomama!

The Bible says that we need to "rightly divide the Word of truth"-know correctly what is to be followed today, and what is to be disregarded for today. When people read the Bible at face value without the filters of human preference added, it is clear that the Church in Bible times had a lot more in common with us than with the typical "religious right" Christian!
