Camo Easter Eggs

I saw these camo Easter eggs at WalMart today... my first thought was wow, nothing says 'Jesus has risen' like camouflage Easter eggs. It is so incongruous to be celebrating the resurrection of our savior, the Prince of Peace with camo Easter eggs!

He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.
(Ephesians 2:17)

Peace, Love, and Light through Jesus the Christ!

I found it quite cute. Easter eggs aren't meant to celebrate our savior...we do that without the eggs. The eggs are just something fun for the kids to do...I thought the military ones were really cute, especially for sending to our troops overseas, during the holidays. Jesus died for everyone.

Yes Jesus died for everyone, but he did not take up arms for anyone.

They are meant to make them harder to find for the kids, color of eggs have zero reflection upon a relgion. That would be like comparing Jesus to Santa Clause. It is a fun simple concept to watch the kids take longer to find the eggs. When hidden properly it took my 23 year old brother 40 minutes to find 10!

Thank you for your comments. My point of view is that our desire to show support for our brave men and women who serve in the armed forces has created the acceptance of the militarization in every aspect of our society. I believe that camo Easter eggs are just one more example of how our society has normalized the warfare state.

Some times I get a little carried away when on my soapbox.

I think it's normalized because we are at war with our government. Though some do not want to believe it. We are. Look at the economy, the protests, the Tea Party. Being a Christian and in Armed Forces, I do find this very offensive. Hiding eggs was adopted from the Germans when they brought stories of an egg laying Hare..
