Website No More

Sorry guys... I decided after nine years and 90,000 visits to shut down HippieChristian.org. The website was started on July 4, 1998 as an effort to connect with other hippie refugees of the 60's Jesus Movement, over time it went through several transformations and seemed to take on a life of it's own. I received many kind e-mails from folks around the world and I was able to send Gospel packets via snail mail to many distant places that I would have never been able to visit in person. The time has come to move on.

My hippie roots are still an important part of who I am, but I have discovered roots that go much deeper and my personal faith journey is taking my to new places. Actually I am headed down an old path that was traveled by my great (x5) grandfather. I am exploring my Quaker roots and finding that I have more in common with the Quaker testimony than with any other christian tradition that I have been associated with. I will share more on this part of my journey in future posts.

On occasion I will post some content from HippieChristian.org pages here on my blog. Please feel free to copy them and share them with others if you so desire.

Peace, Love, and Light through Jesus the Christ!

Good luck brother. I discovered your site really recently. You've got some great stuff. My girlfriend and I are kind of modern day hippies (we're 19, just little babies). When I found this site I had to show my girlfriend. Funny thing about it, she's Quaker. So the Quaker faith is one that I pretty familiar with and I think you are probably going down a very exciting fullfilling path, that Jesus himself wouldn't ahve minded walking down.
Go in Peace.

I just searched for this site and was terribly sad to find it gone.
I understand you must pursue your own authentic journey... but the site was helpful for many. I wish you could have left it in the hands of a friend.

Thanks for the kind and supportive comments. I will continue to post content from the website here to make it available for folks to read.

I saved many of the website files and am open to giving them to someone with a true heart for Jesus and hippies so that the website can continue.

Peace & Love!

Having just discovered your blog, I'm sorry you decided to close those pages. Sounds like an interested story.
